Spinlea Farm Greyton, Overberg

“We believe in the whole. One part depends on another – a holistic balance – homeostasis.  We believe in using on farm resources to our advantage where we utilize manure from our goats to feed our helichrysum, fruit trees, flowers and crops – we use debris, cuttings and waste from oil production for animal feed and mulch. Our bees feed from our flowers, fruit trees and surrounding indigenous vegetation, and they help us by pollinating our flower seeds and fruit blossoms. Our goats are super weeders! They devour weeds, undesirable alien plants(we have to watch they don’t devour our desirable plants!). Life and farming is cyclical – always changing. We believe in changing for the good, we believe in our people and our team and in growing and nurturing the land, our people to sustainably thrive.  We learn and grow continually, life is a learning curve”

    Guest review:
“A wonderful off the grid farm experience with inquisitive goats and curious ducks. There is a picture worth painting from every window view. A lovely open space that heats up in a heartbeat from the great fire. Beautiful products to buy and taste. Fifty shades of green with the beautiful granola fields. A feast for your eyes, especially if they are green.
    Great hosts” – Louvaine Gobel

    Guest review:
“I immediately fell in love with all the cosy nooks, the views, and the beautifully curated details, including the vase of freshly plucked ranunculas and the dried flowers adding muted pops of colour throughout this charming Goat Shed. The flower workshops hosted here sound like something to look forward to, but this time we were instead treated to sweet moments of bottle feeding the day-old hansie baby goats, ducks waddling up to the deck, an evening of catching up with my old school-friend-turned-farmer Karen and her husband Neil over a bottle of bubbly, plenty of snuggling up in front of the fire on chilly evenings, farm runs, and entertaining outings to Greyton just a short drive away.
This is a gem of a place that I want to share with everyone and at the same time remain hush about! I’m already dreaming up future visits and I cannot wait to facilitate a breathwork journey here soon. See you both again soon, Karen and Neil! x Karo and Gray” – Karolien Kristen
