The farm stay offeres:

2 Fully equipped farm cottages (sleeping 6 guests each). An unique campsite with amazing views. A working farm – with animals, olive and date groves. Countryside of stark beauty – with an unusual sense of place. Colorful sunsets and clear skies under which to enjoy your sundowners and braais. Electricity and hot water delivered by Solar energy. Hiking, cycling, exploring and much more. Tankwa Karoo accommodation with a difference.

Skoorsteenberg farm offers self-catering farm style cottages which sleep 6 people each.

They are fully equipped with bedding, towels, kitchen and braai facilities. Bring only your food and personal belongings.

As the cottages are self-catering – they are only cleaned after departure, but wash-up, laundry and daily cleaning services are available on request.

A limited amount of wood is available for purchasing so please bring charcoal and extra wood.

All Meals can be provided on request, if arranged prior to arrival.

The farm and cottages are powered by solar and wind power. The water is bore-hole water and is suitable for drinking.

“I cannot begin to explain how magical this place is! Set in the depths of the Karoo, away from the busyness of day to day life, this magical farm provides way more than you can ever imagine: stunning and fully equipped cottages (we stayed in Olive Cottage), comfortable beds and furniture (always greatly appreciated), a splash pool to cool off, hiking trails, sunsets like you’ll never see again(!), donkeys, goats and sheep for the kids to meet (don’t worry, they are sufficiently closed off from your own dogs) and the most kind and accommodating host: Nana.
We took full advantage of everything the farm had to offer – and so did our 3 dogs who roamed free for our entire stay – exploring, investigating and relaxing. It’s such a lovely feeling to not have to worry about them troubling people when you are trying to relax.
I cannot recommend this place enough. We will definitely be back in 2022. Trail running shoes and mountain bikes in tow again. Plenty to explore.

“Very much of the beaten path. Nonetheless, a beautiful place!
Nothing more relaxing than watching the stars at night, very different from the city. No light pollution.
