Hidden within the exclusive 350-hectare Renosterveld Project, Renosterveld Eco Pods offer an extraordinary opportunity to slow down, switch off and experience the beauty of the Breede River in complete seclusion.

Just 2½ hours from Cape Town and 30 km south of Swellendam, the sanctuary enjoys 2.6 km of private river frontage and an exceptional sense of space. Only three properties are currently developed within this secluded section of the conservation area, making this a truly rare escape.

A Private Wilderness Retreat

The two beautifully designed, fully off-grid Eco Pods have been carefully positioned to blend into the landscape and minimise their environmental footprint.

Each pod is completely private and sleeps up to four adults plus one small child, making it ideal for couples, small families or a few close friends.

Two spacious bedrooms with extra-length queen-size beds
Two full en-suite bathrooms, each with a bath and shower
Sleeper couch suitable for a small child
Fully equipped kitchen

Nature on Your Doorstep

This is a place for birdwatching, river adventures, fireside evenings and spectacular sunsets.

The surrounding conservation area supports an abundance of indigenous wildlife and more than 300 bird species, including the endangered Black Harrier and magnificent Fish Eagle.

In spring, the landscape transforms with spectacular wildflower displays, while the surrounding countryside comes alive with golden canola fields.

The Perfect Digital Detox

Cellphone reception is limited — and that’s part of the experience.

Leave the notifications behind and spend your days kayaking, relaxing in the hot tub, exploring the landscape, reading beside the fire or simply doing nothing at all.

With contactless self-check-in, you can enjoy your stay with complete privacy. We are based in nearby Swellendam and available for emergency assistance when needed.

Before You Arrive

The Eco Pods are located in a remote wilderness environment and access is via rugged farm roads. A high-clearance vehicle is recommended, and road and river conditions should be checked before arrival.

Please note:

Cellphone reception is limited.
Filtered river water is supplied; guests are encouraged to bring their preferred drinking water.
This is a working farm and a high fire-risk area.
Closed shoes are recommended on trails.
Indigenous wildlife is present, so guests should remain alert and follow all safety guidelines.
A private beautician is available by prior appointment.
