Plett Forest Cabins, Garden Route

A perfect weekend destination from anywhere along the Garden Route, Port Elizabeth or Cape Town, Plett Forest Cabins, tucked away in the Harkerville Forest, offers visitors a host of comfortable and affordable accommodation with a host of activities on the property and in the nearby surroundings.

Away from the hustle and bustle of town this tranquil forest retreat is perfect for the Honeymooner, the Romantic Couple, the Family needing a break, or the perfect destination for a group breakaway or Family Reunion.

On offer are rustic fully equipped self-catering cabins sleeping from 2 to 6 guests. All cabins are fully equipped with linen, towels, cutlery, crockery, a fridge, stove and microwave. 5 of the 6 cabins have Jacuzzi Baths. The 6th, a two bedroomed unit overlooking the dam, has en-suite showers. Each cabin has an outside braai area.

Activities include hiking, bird-watching and swimming in the river. In addition to the opportunities for hiking and swimming on the property, the Harkerville mountain biking trails are only 5kms away.

Blackwood and Bluegum our Honeymoon Cabins (with Jacuzzi spa-baths)

An open plan Cabin, ideal for the romantics or Honeymooners.

Sleeps 4 at a squeeze (max 2 adults and 2 kids aged 5 – 12).

Blackwood & Bluegum contain a 1 x Queen Bed, with 2 x single mattresses up in the loft for kids which is accessible via a ladder.

Both cabins are fully equipped for self catering with fridge/freezer combo, microwave, mini oven with 2 plates, braai grid and own private braai. Blackwood has a front and back deck, the back deck overlooks the ravine.

Honeymoon Cabins

Our two private Honeymoon Cabins Blackwood and Bluegum with Jacuzzi spa baths are tucked away under the forest canopy overlooking the pool.

Each have a Queen sized bed with a Jacuzzi bathroom. Bedding and towels are provided.
Tucked away in the loft are 2 single beds for children suggested 5 years to 12 years as the beds are accessed via a ladder to the loft.
There are outdoor braai facilities with seating.
Blackwood has an extra balcony overlooking the forest.

Hand feed the deer from your cabin stairs in the early morning or late evening, they love grapes, pears, apples and some days enjoy carrots too.

Please do not feed them sweets and chocolates. The also eat plastic so please make sure you throw all your plastic away.

Keep your charcoal bag up on top of your braai.

“Peaceful rest perfectly situated.
Friendly reception from owners and the 2 dogs were happy to play with our 2 teenagers. Clean wooden cabin very well-equipped for self-catering. Peaceful and healthy sleep in the forest. Location is perfectly situated between Plett and Knysna and to visit many nearby animal sanctuaries (wolves, raptures) or past Plett (wild cats, birds, monkeys) or a 40 min drive to Nature’s Valley for a 5 km forest hike to Salt River meets the ocean, beautiful view. Nearly no WiFi, so perfect occasion to involve the family in a game of 30 seconds or charades!”

“Great place to stay.
It was a cold weekend when we were there but the cabins were equipped with nice warm blankets. The cabin itself was nice and cozy and warm. The cabin does need a little maintenance, but nothing serious. Also I stayed in the Banana Cabin and would like you to have maybe seating around the fireplace as I saw at some of the cabins. You do have nature all around you, and it feels like you are deep in the forest, although you can still hear the traffic. We really enjoyed our stay and would go back in a heartbeat. If you want peace and quiet give it a try.”

“Lovely! Peace and quiet and so much more.
Totally comfortable, has everything one needs in a self-catering cabin. Will be back in summer so that I can braai with the bokkies looking on. Karin (the owner) is a really lovely lady. Thanks for everything Karin!”
