Hudson Manor Entabeni Knysna, Garden Route

Entabeni is a small working farm retreat comprising 35 ha in the heart of Knysna. It is 4.5 km from the centre of town and waterfront.

The main house has 7 on-suite, generous, north facing bedrooms with king size double beds and white cotton linen. The rooms are generous (65sqm +). The bathrooms have both a bath and shower. Fresh towels are provided daily. Each room is equipped with a hairdryer and kettle. The rooms are provisioned with drinking water, coffee, tea, milk and sugar as required. All rooms have a workstation and have access to the Wifi. DSTV is provided in a private lounge. The house is completely off the grid. Water is provided by a borehole and electricity is generated by solar panels through local equipment monitored externally, a significant automated storage system of Litium Iron batteries and gas boilers.

Breakfast is served in the open plan kitchen, dining lounge area of the main house which opens onto a wrap around patio overlooking the pond and Knysna lagoon.

Entabeni is incredibly well situated for a multitude of activities. Knysna is a town of festivals and markets so check the calendar for these activities, especially the Oyster festival for which the town is famous.

Personal activities include

Walking and Hiking – On the property, neighbouring indigenous forests and along the lagoon

Birding – the property is home to a multitude of bird species, many of which can be seen from the patio overlooking the pond. Some species include Herons, Eagles, Owls, Ducks, Martins, Sunbirds

Riding – Horses on the neighbouring property, Bicycle, Quad bikes (Sedgefield)

Swimming and Surfing – in the lagoon on the Leisure Isle beach and nearby ocean beaches of Brenton on Sea, Buffels Baai or Plettenberg Bay.

Art – Entabeni hosts one of the SAFFCA art residencies. International and local artists are in residence for 6 months of the year. The town has a very active art community with 6 large galleries and many smaller ones.

Golf – Knysna has the Knysna Country Club and 2 championship courses within 10 km of Entabeni; Simola & Pezula. Further afield is Plettenberg Bay Country Club and Goose Valley.

“ Fantastische kamer (presidentiële suite), mooie ligging met prachtig uitzicht. Goed ontbijt met nederlandse muziek op de achtergrond. Vonden wij een heel speciaal detail. De eigenaar dacht ontzettend goed mee hoe ons verblijf zo goed mogelijk zou zijn. ( er was de avond dat wij er waren een muziekevenement wat misschien overlast zou kunnen veroorzaken en deed daarom een bod voor een andere kamer met dinerbon. Toen de overlast mee viel als nog onze eerste keus kamer gekregen en mochten de dinerbon houden) super super super service!!!! Niet anders dan lof!!!”- Nathalie
