“If ever visiting Western Cape and you are in need of peace and tranquillity Dassenheuwel Farm Stay is your place. I stayed for a week in a beautiful, well furnished, pretty cottage which lacked nothing. A beautiful interior and the outside patio with a lovely view, a blessing for the soul. The host and hostess are lovely people and supported me with assistance and advice. I even received a freshly baked farm bread one morning. Thank you so much for this lovely stay at this neat and pretty farm”- Rina Engelbrecht

“Thank you Lida for your arrangements – you are so ‘on it’ to let your visitors check in safely with you – thank you for your thoroughness. Thank you very much for your welcoming message on our door, your delicious freshly baked bread which was delivered very soon after our arrival. Your exceptional taste with which you made the ancient house modern and yet ‘farm’ = 10/10!!! You have thought of everything that visitors would need. Thank you very much for a place where togetherness, memories are built and Sundays wake up at Dassenheuwel, I left there with my loved ones with a grateful heart”- Marinde Saayman

“Wonderful farm stay. Warm and friendly arrival and so many small personal and extra touches to our stay that you do not see anywhere else. The fresh baked homemade bread, complimentary bottle of wine, Nespresso pods, sweeties. A family fun evening around the spacious dining room table playing board games. Huge bath, lovely touch with the emergency kit. So much love and attention in every detail”- Natalie Vos

“My husband and I absolutely enjoyed our stay at Dassenheuwel Farmhouse – our hosts were friendly, helpful, full of information about the environment and added value to our stay with snippets about the history of the farm, agriculture in that area, etc.

The facility in the house is ample with little surprises like a Nespresso machine, inside and outside barbecue area weather depending on and a lovely big bath. We recommend this accommodation and farm visit and will use their hospitality hopefully soon again”- Engela Roos

Candy were guests in our Farm Stay this weekend: She wrote this on Airbnb:
Lida & Kobus are the heart of this farm. They have put every effort into making the airbnb guests comfortable. There is nothing ‘rustic’ about the farmstay. Beautiful decor, Nespresso machine, homemade bread, hairdryer, luxurious bath, comfortable beds and egyptian cotton linen with feather duvets and pillows. What an absolutely peaceful retreat. Lida kept in contact with regards to loadshedding and we were never surprised. Kobus treated us to a drive around the farm, with the kids having the time of their lives on the back of the bakkie. Tortoises, Zebra, Reindeer, helping to feed baby lambs, cows, ducks, geese, mud and never ending bike tracks for the kids! What a gem. We will definitely be back! Thank you Lida & Kobus!
